The general meeting of the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ) has concordantly elected Prof. Dr. Barbara Pfetsch as a member of the board of trustees. The term of office lasts three years and starts with immediate effect.
The board of trustees is the supervisory committee of the iFQ. It's task is among others to co-decide about the medium-term operational and financial planning. Together with Prof. Pfetsch another scientist, Prof. Dr. Manfred Prenzel (TU München), is an elected member of the board of trustees. It is completed by three ex officio delegated members: The chairwoman Dorothee Dzwonnek (German Research Foundation), Susanne Clobes (Federal Ministry for Education and Research) and Dr. Josef Glombik (Ministry for Science, Research and Culture of the federal state Brandenburg).
Located in Berlin and funded by the German Research Foundation DFG, the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance is a facility of study of science, which informs about the German and international research and scientific system, analyzes the development as well as strengths and weaknesses of the scientific governance and sponsorship and advices different actors from universities, politics and administration. It's goal is to gear cut the areas of service and research. Recently four fields of issues are forming the focal points of work: "Evaluation and assessment", "indicators and methods", "analysis of the scientific system" and "young academics and carriers".
