Media and Communication Studies have a 60-year long tradition at Freie Universität Berlin and a stake in the future: The research conducted at the institute is reflected by various courses offered in the bachelor’s and master’s programs. Berlin as the German capital and home of many media organizations attracts a growing number of students yearly with its rich creative and international potential.

Bachelor “Media and Communication Studies”

The bachelor’s program takes 6 semesters (3 years) and can be chosen either as core subject (major) or as a minor in combination with other bachelor’s programs.

Master “Media and Political Communication”

The master’s program is research-oriented and allows for the extension of knowledge in the field of political communication. The M.A. takes 4 semesters (2 years).
