SFB 1171"Affective Societies": Teilprojekt C01

Ricarda Ameling is a PhD candidate and was a research associate at the CRC “Affective Societies” working on affect and emotion within the context of authoritarian transformations in Egypt after 2011. She studied Islamic Studies and Political Science at FU Berlin and the American University in Cairo. Her research interests include contemporary political and cultural transformations in the MENA region, nationalism, gender, postcolonial theory as well as critical theory. She gained work experience at the SWP (German Institute for International and Security Affairs) and international organizations focusing on migration as well as peace and development work.
