As a contribution to implement the international decisions for the promotion of sustainable consumption and production the project´s aim was to deliver the technical basis for a “National Roadmap for Sustainable Consumption”. The project team supported the process of strategy development and developed a first draft version of the roadmap. The academic literature as well as the current state of political processes was analyzed and interviews with experts of the environment administration were held. The draft of the roadmap was an input to the “Program for Sustainable Consumption” – an initiative of the German government, which currently (November 2015) is subject to the consultation process between government departments.
