Development of Recommendations for the Use of Economic Instruments in Order to Icrease Ressource Efficiency in Germany and the EU

In light of the increasing scarcity of resources and the resulting consequences the need to improve resource efficiency and to reduce resource consumption grows. So far, regulatory instruments are the main means to control resource consumption. Economic instruments are being used only in the areas of energy and transport. The research project aims at developing specific suggestions for the use of economic instruments or combinations of economic instruments for the improvement of resource efficiency in Germany and the EU.
