Michael has a degree in Administration Sciences and is working as a researcher at the Environmental Policy Research Centre in the field of energy and climate policy. He has research and consulting experience of 17 years and his research focus includes trans-national, national, regional, and local energy policies and support instruments for renewable energy and energy efficiency. He has a specific research interest in the Baltic Sea Region, Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of the Former Soviet Union. Presently he is engaged in the project “Institutionalisation of collective work relations in the German wind energy sector?” supported by the Hans-Böckler Foundation.
Michael Krug has been coordinating policy related work in several international projects co-financed by the EU under the Baltic Sea Region Programme and other INTERREG programmes including “Bioenergy Promotion 2 (2012-2014)” „Bio-energy Promotion”(2009-2011), “MunEM - Municipal energy management in Kaliningrad” (2007-2009), and “REGENERGY- Network of pioneering regions and communities working on innovative heat energy solutions” (2005-2007).
