Petra Schuck-Wersig studied informatical sciences and history of art at the Free University of Berlin, after having already obtained a diploma in documentation at the Insitut for Documentation, Frankfurt/Main. She received her doctoral degree at the Free University of Berlin in 1992, working on „Terra incognita imaginis – An Expedition to the Picture.
Contributions to the Analysis of the cultural importance of pictures”. Since 1983, Schuck-Wersig has worked partly as a research associate of the Institute for journalism and communicational sciences, Free University of Berlin, and partly as a free lancing member of several projects concerning marketing in museums. Furthermore, she was a staff member of the Daimler Benz Foundation research association “Living in the City” (“Lebensraum Stadt”) as well as evaluating two ADAPT-projects concerning the introduction of information and communication technologies. Her free lancing work also involves studies and surveys for other insitutes, among others: the Foundation for Prussian Cultural Heritage, the Academy for Technological Impact Assessment Baden-Würtemberg and the FHTW Berlin.
Petra Schuck-Wersig joined the Environmental Policy Research Centre as a research fellow in October 2006.
