M.A. of political science, born in 1973, is research associate in the department of Environmental Politics and Ressource Management of the Germen Development Institute, Bonn. He is also an abstractor of the German Advisory Council on Global Change and currently doctoral candidate at the Otto Suhr Institut of the Free University Berlin. Prior to this, he worked for the Environmental Policy Research Centre, coordinating the research group “MANUS – Managers of Global Change” within the Global Governance projects. MANUS analysed the role international bureaucracies play in international environmental politics (2202-2006). Bauer is co-editor of “A World Environmental Organization – Solution or Threat for Effective International Environmental Governance?” (Ashgate, 2005).
