Julia Hertin has been a researcher at the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) of the Freie Universität Berlin since September 2006. Before that, she has been working for seven years as a contract researcher in the United Kingdom. As a research fellow at SPRU - an interdisciplinary research institute for science and technology policy research at the at the University of Sussex - she was involved in a wide range of projects for the European Commission, the British Government and the research council EPSRC.
Julia carried out her studies in political and social sciences at the Otto-Suhr-Institut of the Freie Universität Berlin and at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris (diploma in political sciences and German-French diploma in political and social sciences).
Julia has published a considerable number of academic contributions, amongst them reviewed articles in international journals (e.g. Climatic Change, Global Environmental Change, Futures, Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning, European Environment) book chapters, research reports and working papers. She frequently reviews books, journal articles, research projects, proposals and conference papers. In addition to her research activities, Julia has experiences in policy consultancy, research dissemination, the management of events and in teaching.
