Hannah Kannen, born in 1986, studied International Policy Management (BA) at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen and International Relations (MA) in the joint master program of the Free University Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Potsdam. She mainly focuses her academic studies on the political system of the European Union. In her master’s thesis, she seeks to explain variance in climate policy integration in EU energy policies.
Hannah has done several internships related to peace and conflict studies and political consulting as well as in the German Bundestag and in the Liaison Office of the SPD Parliamentary Group in Brussels.
As a student fellow, Hannah worked for the Collaborative Research Center 597 "Transformations of the State" at the University of Bremen and at the Social Science Research Center Berlin. She was a student fellow at the Environmental Policy Research Center between April 2011 and October 2012. Among other things, she helped to organize the 2012 Berlin Conference on “Evidence for Sustainable Development”.
Hannah is a research fellow at the FFU since November 2012. Her main research focus is on regional, national und supranational climate and energy policy.
