Nils Simon, MA International Relations, is studying political science at the Otto-Suhr-Institute and is a student fellow of the Environmental Policy Research Centre since October 2008. His focus areas are multilevel environmental governance, global political economy and international relations. In 2006, Nils was a Visiting Scholar at the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) in Bonn for 6 months. From 2006-2007, he was enrolled in a postgraduate course in International Relations at the University of Sussex (UK) and wrote his MA thesis about global climate politics. In his diplom thesis he is analyzing the spread of local climate strategies within European cities. In 2009, he co-edited a volume on “International Labour Standards in a Globalised World”, published by the VS Verlag, which included an article by him on minimum wages as a heterogenous labour standard.
