Gabriela Kuetting’s research focuses on global environmental politics and the politics of the everyday. Her research critically examines the concept and processes of a globalizing political economy in relation to environmental and also social concerns. Currently she is working on analyzing epistemological problems within global environmental politics. The key question in her research is how to achieve environmental change when existing social and power relations make effective changes unlikely. She has published three single-authored books ((Environment, Society and International Relations, Routledge, 2000; Globalization and the Environment, SUNY Press 2004; and The Global Political Economy of the Environment and Tourism, Palgrave, 2010) as well as several edited collections and numerous journal articles (most recently with Phil Cerny, 2015, ‘Rethinking global environmental policy: From Global Governance to Transnational Neopluralism’, Public Administration).

Gabriela was Professor of Global Politics and Head of the Political Science Department at Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey until December 2015. On January 1st, she joined the School of Law and Politics at Cardiff University, Wales, UK.
