Dr. Sybille Röhrkasten is researcher at the Plattform Energiewende/ Transdisciplinary Panel on Energy Change (TPEC) at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam. She works on the international dimension of the energy transition. Her research covers issues such as Germany’s international Energiewende policy, global energy governance and water-energy nexus.
She finished her dissertation at the Environmental Policy Research Center (FFU) in 2014. In her dissertation, she contrasted the ideas of the German and the Brazilian governments on global renewable energy governance.
Prior to joining IASS, Sybille worked at the Global Issues Division of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, SWP). There, she focused on international energy and climate policies. Sybille holds a double degree of international economics and political science from the University of Tübingen and also studied at the Unversidade de São Paulo.
