In this year's Shanghai Ranking, the Institute of Sociology performs very well and is among the 10 best institutes in Germany. For the research output indicator, the institute reaches fifth place.

Similar to previous years, the Institute is also successful in the QS World University Ranking 2023, achieving 30th place, which is the best ranking within Germany.

For 2024, the Institute will also participate in the CHE University Ranking. This ranking uses a very differentiated methodology and is one of the most important university rankings in Germany.
