Master’s Programme in International Relations (online)

The Master´s programme in International Relations (online) is a postgraduate programme which is offered by the Freie Universität Berlin. The programme may be completed full time (4 semesters) or part time (8 semesters).

Object of the Programme

The Master’s programme in International Relations (online) provides a comprehensive working knowledge of the theories and approaches of International Relations. While doing so, it is stressed at all times that questions remain relevant and politically focused. The study programme is designed to be interdisciplinary. The target group of the Master programme are young career starters, who wish to qualify themselves for higher positions in their field or wish to switch into an international field of work. The study programme follows a blended learning model: online-based teaching is complemented by phases of attendance in Berlin. The language of teaching is English. The study programme forms the academic grounding for international employment opportunities, among others, in the following areas: politics and political consulting, economics and economic consulting, foreign service and international organisations, NGOs, culture, media as well as research and teaching in academic establishments.

After successful completion of studies the title “Master of Arts (MA)” will be awarded (120 ECTS).
