The Master’s programme in North American Studies is offered by the John-F.-Kennedy-Institute for North American Studies (standard length of study: 4 semesters).

Object of the Programme

In the Master’s programme in North American studies, historical developments, structures and institutions of the region of North America are analysed and interpreted as well as put in their respective political, societal, economic, historical and cultural context. In addition, questions of regional academic affairs and tasks are worked on in an interdisciplinary fashion. Core subjects of the Master’s in North American studies are history, culture, literature, politics, sociology and the economy.

After successful completion of studies the title “Master of Arts (MA)” will be awarded.
