Welcome to the Kolleg-Forschergruppe "The Transformative Power of Europe"!

The Kolleg-Forschergruppe (KFG) "The Transformative Power of Europe", directed by Prof. Dr. Tanja A. Börzel and Prof. Dr. Thomas Risse, examines the role of the EU as promoter and recipient of ideas, analyzing the mechanisms and effects of international and external diffusion processes in two research areas:

 

  • The EU and Regional Institutions in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia
  • Europe and the EU as Recipients of Diffusion


We bring together research on European affairs in the Berlin-Brandenburg region and institutionalize the cooperation with other universities  and research institutions. A centerpiece of the KFG is the invitation of national and international guest scholars working on the diffusion of ideas as well as the promotion of junior researchers through (post) doc fellowships.
