Humboldt Research Award granted to Gary Marks

We are proud to announce that the Humboldt Research Award has been granted to Gary Marks, Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and founding Director of the UNC Center for European Studies. Following an invitation by Prof. Tanja A. Börzel and Prof. Thomas Risse, Prof. Marks will spend the academic year of 2010 / 2011 together with Prof. Liesbet Hooghe at the Kolleg-Forschergruppe "The Transformative Power of Europe" in order to complete the research project appendant to the award. The project will analyze the effects of multilevel governance.

The Humboldt Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher's entire achievements to date to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in future are eligible to be nominated for a Humboldt Research Award. The award is valued at 60,000 EUR.
