Jour Fixe: „Global Shift: How the West Should Respond to the Rise of China”

The Research College “Transformative Power of Europe” and the Center for Area Studies cordially invite you to the next meeting within our “KFG-Jour Fixe”-series. We are glad to welcome researchers from the Transatlantic Academy (Washington), who are going to present their report on

„Global Shift: How the West Should Respond to the Rise of China”

Prof. Daniel Deudney, Dr. Steffen Kern, and Soo Yeon Kim Ph.D are going to present their findings. While Soo Yeon Kim and Steffen Kern will focus on the trade and financial aspects of the western relationship with China, Daniel Deudney is going to look at the broader security and world order dimensions.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Risse will be discussant in the session and Prof. Dr. Tanja Börzel will chair the meeting (both directors of the Research College “Transformative Power of Europe”).

Date: Monday, 6 June 2011, 4.15 pm (16.15 Uhr)

The talk will be held in English. After the discussion we would like to invite you to a small reception. The executive summary is available here (PDF), some information about the authors can be found below.
