Short CV
Carina Sprungk is currently holding a position as junior professor for European Politics at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. She completed her PhD degree in political science with distinction (summa cum laude) in June 2007. From 2006-2009, Sprungk held positions as visiting professor at the Department of Government at Harvard University, and as a visiting professor for European Politics at the University of Victoria, Canada. Her teaching and research interests include European Union Politics (with a special focus on democracy and accountability), Europeanization and Domestic Change, Legislative Studies, Compliance with International Law, and Environmental Policy. She has published on the effects of Europeanization on national decision-making, on compliance with law beyond the nation-state, on environmental policy in the EU, on the debate about the EU Constitutional Treaty and on national parliamentary scrutiny of EU politics.
