From October 2005 to October 2008, Swantje Renfordt was a research associate at the Center for Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy, where she joined the DFG-funded part of the project “In Search of a New Role in World Politics. The Common European Foreign, Security and Defence policies (CFSP/ESDP) in the Light of Identity-Debates in the Member States’ Mass Media”. From June 2008 till September 2008, she was a visiting student at the University of Bath (United Kingdom). From October 2005 to July 2009, Swantje Renfordt completed her Ph.D. in International Relations (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Thomas Risse). From July 2009 till May 2010, Swantje Renfordt was a post-doctoral fellow at the DFG-funded Kolleg-Forschergruppe “The Transformative Power of Europe”, Freie Universität Berlin.
