From October 2005 to October 2008, Swantje Renfordt was a research associate at the Center for Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy, where she joined the DFG-funded part of the project “In Search of a New Role in World Politics. The Common European Foreign, Security and Defence policies (CFSP/ESDP) in the Light of Identity-Debates in the Member States’ Mass Media”. From June 2008 till September 2008, she was a visiting student at the University of Bath (United Kingdom). From October 2005 to July 2009, Swantje Renfordt completed her Ph.D. in International Relations (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Thomas Risse). From July 2009 till May 2010, Swantje Renfordt was a post-doctoral fellow at the DFG-funded Kolleg-Forschergruppe “The Transformative Power of Europe”, Freie Universität Berlin.
Swantje Renfordt is the author of „Auf dem Weg zu einer europäischen Öffentlichkeit? Eine Medienanalyse europäischer und amerikanischer Debatten über den Irak-Krieg 2003“ (VDM, 2007); „Do Europeans Speak With One Another in Time of War?
