PhD Research: Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Cape Town


Fungai Chirongoma is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Religious Studies, University of Cape Town. Her research interest is in religion, gender and development. Fungai’s doctoral research is on the responses of Muslim and Christian Faith Based Organizations to Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Cape Town. Prior to enrolling at the University of Cape Town, she worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Religious Studies, Classics and Philosophy at the University of Zimbabwe. She holds a Master’s degree in Religious Studies and a BA Hons in Religious Studies from the University of Zimbabwe.
