Als Preisträger der Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung hält er sich von November 2015 bis Dezember 2016 als Gastforscher an unserem Institut auf.
"Prof. Dr. Jakob K. Olupona is a leading authority in the comparative study of religion in West Africa. His research has made a unique contribution to the understanding of African indigenous religion in Nigeria, as well as the dynamics of civil religion and religious pluralism in Africa and the African diaspora. In Germany, Professor Olupona continues his research on recent articulations of Christian identity in the context of Nigerian popular culture, public space and civil society. Professor Olupona is hosted by Professor Hansjörg Dilger at Freie Universität Berlin."
