International Web browser company Opera Software is seeking a talented wordsmith for a fully paid six-month internship as an Online Writer in our international headquarters in Oslo, Norway… and we have opened a worldwide competition to find them! The task of the Online Writer will be to prepare articles, online content and collateral about Opera and new web technologies.
Your field of studies is not important, but you must be able to demonstrate solid writing skills in English. You should have an exceptional understanding of technology, the ability to explain complex issues simply, and the lightness of touch to move easily between the humorous and the professional.
The winner will receive:
Of course, the best way to select our Online Writer is to ask candidates to write articles and provide samples of their work, so we can see your writing talents in action! Our two-stage competition has now opened, in which entrants will submit articles on specified topics.
The topic for the first round of the competition is: In technology we have seen some great innovations and others that are plain useless. To apply for the internship we'd like you to write an article on innovation in technology. You have to include at least one Opera browser innovation in your answer.
The article should be less than 400 words and written in a humorous and entertaining style.
The deadline for the first round is 25th August 2009. Opera Software will publish the best articles for feedback from our fan community. After the second round, we will interview the three top writers to decide the lucky wordsmith who will join us here at Opera Software.
So if you feel you could be the one, get writing!
