Miranda Schreurs ist Professorin für Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft und Leiterin der Forschungsstelle für Umweltpolitik der Freien Universität Berlin. Bis Oktober 2007 war sie Professorin am Dept. of Government and Politics der University of Maryland. Prof. Dr. Schreurs ist in den USA geboren und hat in Japan, Deutschland und den Niederlanden gelebt. Ihren PhD erwarb sie an der University of Michigan, den MA und BA an der University of Washington. Sie war Gastforscherin und Gastprofessorin an der Harvard University, Utrecht University, Keio University, Chuo University und Rikkyo University. U.a. erhielt sie research fellowships von der SSRC-MacArthur Foundation, der Fulbright Foundation und der National Science Foundation/Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Im Juli 2008 wurde Miranda Schreurs in den Sachverständigenrat für Umweltfragen (SRU) des Bundesumweltministeriums berufen.
