In this brown bag, Mr. Mathai-Jackson will discuss the research he is undertaking in collaboration with the FFU to compare the legal and policy frameworks surrounding the integration of variable renewable energy into the electric grids in both California and Germany. The purpose of the research is to identify any applicable lessons from the German and broader European approach to inform future law and policy direction in California. Mr. Mathai-Jackson is a lecturer on energy law at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and is affiliated with the Law School's Center for Law, Energy, and the Environment. He also practices energy law with a focus on renewable energy policy and procurement.
