Tina Walther is a research associate at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology (Medical Anthropology | Global Health Unit). Her previous work has focused on the transnational mobility of medical staff and patients, global (mental) health and issues of living and dying well (including palliative and hospice care). Her regional research focus is on East Africa (especially Tanzania and Uganda) and India. In addition, she deals with critical perspectives on development cooperation and can draw on her own experience in governmental and non-governmental organizations in Germany and abroad. Across regions and topics, she deals with questions of research ethics as well as innovative research methods and participatory knowledge transfer.
