The conference of the expert group was jointly organized with the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in Berlin and took place under the motto "Automating Communication in the Networked Society: Contexts, Consequences, Critique". Christian Strippel presented an integrative model for the correlation of technological affordances and discourse architectures:
