"Healthy Planet, Healthy People" - Implications from the 6th UNEP Environmental Report for Germany

The Umweltbundesamt, with support of the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) and the Öko Institute, cordially invites to the presentation of the 6th Global Enviornmental Outlook report – titled "Healthy Planet, Healthy People – on March 22, 2019. The presentation will be held in tandem with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and some of the authors. The presentation will be followed by a discussion about the reports' global implications for German enviornmental and sustainability policies.

The 6th Global Enviornmental Outlook (GEO-6) report will officially be released mid March 2019 as part of the 4th UN Enviornmental Assembly. The GEO-6 report evaluates die efficiancy of environmental policies and perspectives for a sustainable development.

The event wants to bridge the results of the global analysis of the GEO-6 report with measurements and policies in Germany. The discussion will revolve around questions such as: Which central findings of the GEO-6 report should enviornmental policies in Germany adapt? What can Germany learn from international enviornmental-innvoations? Which implications does the report have for national, international, and biliteral options for enviornmental policies?
