The study aims to support a feasible and ambitious design for a sustainability assessment for legislation in Germany. For this purpose, experiences from other countries is evaluated and the scientific literature will be reviewed. These cases will then be discussed with a focus on the situation in Germany. Furthermore, concrete steps to support the implementation of this new instrument will be worked out.
