Tasks:

    * Participation in the DFG-Forschungsgruppe 736: Urban Climate and Heat Stress im Mid-latitude Cities in View of Climate Change (UCaHS) (www.klima.tu-berlin.de/forschung/ucahs/index_de.htm)

    * possible measures for the implementation of new policies (self-administration, indirect governance, authorities)

    * attempts to let the  public participate in local climate politics and governance strategies

    * learning processes between cities: international networks, model-towns, diffusion of local action-plans, NGO support

    * local initiatives within multi-level governance structures and the interaction of local, central, regional and supranational levels

    * chance to gain a PhD/doctorate will be given

 

Requirements:

Academic qualifications (MA or equivalent, preferably in political sciences)

 

Desirable:

    * excellent spoken and written English

    * knowledge of energy politics and climate change

    * high level of self-initiative and the ability to work autonomously

    * interest in environment-related topics

    * very good MS-Office (Excel/Word/ppt) skills

    * high team competency and organisational skills
