Klaus Jacob spoke on symposium of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation
On 24th June Klaus Jacob gave a speech on “Political processes and modes of dialogue for the reduction of ecologically harmful subsidies” at the 3rd symposium of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation Berlin from the series “Instruments of ecological industrial policy” .

At the conference, the main features of a Bund-Länder-Strategy for ecological industrial policies were discussed. In this context, Klaus Jacob provided details on environmentally harmful subsidies, which, for instance, provide incentives for resource consuming or emission-intensive economic activities. He also broached issues regarding the dismantling of subsidies. Concerning the process design, he draws the conclusion that there is a need for a better knowledge base and future orientation as well as for a multi-level control system concerning subsidies.
