In the June-edition of the journal “Ökologisches Wirtschaften” (ecological economic activity; 2/2014) an article on “New indicators for a resource policy – requirements for the German Resource Efficiency Program” by Lisa Graaf (born Münch) was published. Based on an analysis of the EU consultation for resource efficiency indicators, it is shown that different actors prefer different indicators for measuring the success of resource policy. For the further development of the German Resource Efficiency Programm the author recommends to introduce a so called dashboard, which should include indicators on resource efficient technologies, circular economy as well as on ecological effects. This would allow for a better consideration of the different requirements of a resource policy.
