The hearing concerned questions regarding methods and criteria to assess the sustainability impacts of legislation. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of different timings for the assessment and the practicability of various models were discussed. Other aspects related to the selection and ways of assessing legislation, means to ensure a high quality and, last but not least, the role of the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Sustainable Development in sustainability policy.
