On 8 May 2019, Klaus Jacob gave a lecture at the "Conference on the Ressourcenwende (turnaround in resource use) in the Construction Industry". (https://www.re-source.com/jahreskonferenz-2019/). The contribution classified German Resource Policy in an international comparison. Within the framework of the German Resource Efficiency Strategy, mainly activities to promote innovation and to advise companies have taken place so far. It is to contemplate whether the focus should now be placed on the promotion of diffusion. In particular, the use of tax incentives could be learned from other EU member states. Environmental taxes are a central element of the policy mix there.
