Presentation by Klaus Jacob at FÖS-Workshop
Theme: Commuter's tax allowance in Germany: Assessment and Options
News from Mar 08, 2016
On March 3rd, Klaus Jacob gave a presentation at a FÖS-workshop on harmful subsidies for the environment.
He dealt with the commuter's tax allowance in Germany and its negative outcomes on the environment, especially seen in higher density of traffic, urban sprawl and a prefered use of cars in regions with limited access to public transportation. Afterwards he discussed the effects, if the tax allowance would be repealed.
In 2016 a publication on this topic will be released as part of the project "Distributional Effects of Environmental Instruments and Measures".
