News from Mar 23, 2021

Time and date:  30.03.2021, 09:30 - 15:45; online

On March 30, 2021, the FFU together with the Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA) will host an online workshop on "The Future of Citizen Wind Power - How Should a Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy Communities Look Like?". The event is part of the European Horizon 2020 project COME RES coordinated by FU-Berlin, which includes 16 partner organizations from 9 countries. Dr Rosaria Di Nucci and Michael Krug will give an introduction to the issues and illustrate the goals and progress of the COME RES project and country table.

In light of the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) in Germany, this stakeholder dialogue makes particular reference to the Directive's provisions regarding renewable energy communities. Local energy communities for renewable energies and citizen energy are becoming increasingly important and have great development potential in the future energy system. In addition to expert contributions, including from the EU Commission, the European Committee of the Regions and the Federal Network Agency, a round table with decision-makers from politics and administration is also planned.
