Lecture by Klaus Jacob at the McPlanet-Congress 2012
Dr. Klaus Jacob was giving a lecture on the topic “Green Economy: Expectations, Conflicts and Positions” at the McPlanet-Congress in Berlin, Saturday, the 21st of April, 2012. The lecture was part of a workshop on the topic “Capitalism: Black spot on a Green Economy” that was organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation.

In his lecture Dr. Jacob was analyzing and comparing the positions and discourses of different country groups, international organizations and civil society actors. According to this the concept of focusing the Rio+20 World Summit on the topic “Green Economy” is contested. After the lecture representatives of civil society organizations from India and Brazil were bringing forward the positions that they developed in the run-up to the World Summit. The contributions were the basis for the following panel discussion with participants of the workshop about the needs for action and options.
