Based on an evaluation framework for assessing policy strategies for promoting environmental technologies, Rainer Quitzow gave an assessment of India's National Solar Mission and its effectiveness in addressing related policy targets. Key findings were that the strategy has made considerable progress in promoting deployment and cost-reduction targets, but it has failed to put in place a coherent set of policies for promoting industial policy targets.

The Indian-European Multi-Level Climate Governance Network is a joint effort of the Environmental Policy Research Centre, Freie Universität Berlin; the Faculty of Policy and Planning, TERI University, New Delhi; the Institute for Environmental Studies, VU University Amsterdam; the Global Change Programme, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, Pondicherry University. It aims to develop collaborative research projects focused on the challenges and opportunities in strengthening the response to climate change at multiple levels of governance in India and the EU.
