About

Lucas Schwarz holds a master's degree in geography (University of Augsburg) with a focus on political geography, renewable energies, and regional management. His master's thesis, entitled „The Power of Citizens in the Energy Transition“, deals with a network of actors using an empirical study (Bavaria, Germany) and places these qualitative findings in the context of multi-level perspective in the concept of citizen power. His current research interests focus on socio-technical transformation research, participatory processes and decision-making and the theoretical embeddedness within the multi-level perspective.

He completed his Bachelor's degree in Geography with the subsidiary subjects Renewable Energies, Resource Strategies, Site Development, and Regional Planning and Development at the University of Augsburg in September 2017. His bachelor thesis deals with the clustering of renewable energy system operators against the background of spatially compatible site selection. He has deepened his methodological knowledge during two internships (Ramboll Environment & Health GmbH & Research Studio Austria) especially in the field of geographical information systems and spatial analysis. From 2016 to 2019 he was also employed as a research assistant in the DFG project "Spatially compatible expansion of renewable energies".

Since November 2020 he is employed as a research fellow in the project TRANSENS.
