Research Fellow (research project EU-LISTCO)
Aurora Bergmaier is a Research Associate with Freie Universität Berlin, working for the research project "Europe's External Action and the Dual Challenges of Limited Statehood and Contested Orders" (EU-LISTCO). Contributing to EU-LISTCO's work package on knowledge transfer between research and different practice institutions, she is seconded to the German and French Foreign Ministry as a "Scholar in Residence". Aurora Bergmaier holds a master's degree in Political Science from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Sciences Po Paris, which she completed with a thesis on the expansion of Frontex's regulatory role. Previous to her affiliation with Freie Universität Berlin, she gained practical experience at the European Commission and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik).
