The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) has approved the project PALMWORK - Working the Plantationocene. Ecological Labour Regimes of the Palm Oil Value Chain under the lead of Prof. Dr. Bettina Engels (Freie Universität Berlin), Prof. Dr. Kristina Dietz (Universität Kassel) and PD Dr. Oliver Pye (Universität Bonn).The project is embedded within the Priority Program “Sustainability and Resilience of Agri-Food Chains in Times of multiple Crises?" (SPP 2575).
This study examines the relationship between labour and the environment along the palm oil value chain through case studies in Ghana, Colombia, and India.
