Project description

On June 17-18, 2004, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Environmental Policy Research Centre organized an international workshop on the topic of “The Environmental Dimension of Impact Assessment”. About 50 participants, coming from a wide range of environmental authorities of EU-Member States and EU Institutions such as the European Commission and the European Environmental Agency, gathered in order to share first-hand experiences and discuss minimum requirements for Impact Assessment from the environmental policy-makers point of view.
The fruitful and intensive discussions resulted in a Chairpersons Summary Paper, that describes the strength and weaknesses of current procedures at the EU Level and identifies the main challenges ahead. You can find the Summary Paper here. We look forward to receiving comments of all kind.
