Project description

Together with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the FFU organised a workshop, where challenges and opportunities of ecological industrial politics were analysed and thus fields of action and strategies developed. In a first step, the conceptof ecological industrial politics was refined, so as to controversially discuss its possible aims and potentials. Ecological industrial politics are based on the goal of increasing the German industry’s competitiveness in a globalised market whilst using market forces to build a sustainable economy. Traditional industrial politics are not simply to be ecologically reformed, but new guide lines and strategies are to be found. On the other hand, ecological industrial politics have to be separated conceptually from other strategies aiming to support sustainable economics.
The FFU has prepared a paper summarising the results of this workshop.
