Stefanie Schäfter is currently enrolled in the graduate program 'Public and Private Environmental Management' at the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) of the Free University of Berlin.

As part of the "FFU/TERI Climate Change Dialogue“ Stefanie Schäfter is conducting a research project related to irrigation management and its implications for food security in India. Therefore, several case studies will be carried out in order to assess the management/governance of access to irrigation water in selected communities. In case irrigation water cannot be provided steadily, thus putting the availability of and access to food at risk, compensatory measures offered by the Indian government shall be compiled and evaluated.

Besides, Stefanie Schäfter works as a project assistant at adelphi (www.adelphi.de/en), a think tank for policy analysis and strategy consulting in the field of environmental policy, climate change and sustainability. Her work primarily focuses on the interlinkages between natural resources, climate change and security. Lately, she worked on a case study regarding the nexus between natural resources and conflict as well as on related opportunities for cooperation in Central Asia. Additionally, she supports the internet platform on 'Environment, Conflict and Cooperation' (ECC) and the corresponding bimonthly newsletter.

Stefanie Schäfter was enrolled in the undergraduate program European Studies at Sciences Po Bordeaux and the University of Magdeburg where she graduated in January 2010.
