Jan Sieveking has been studying Political Science in the Master's program at the FU Berlin since 2021. Previously, he completed a double degree program between the Otto Suhr Institute and Sciences Po Paris in France. Since January 2020, he has been working as a student assistant in the project Transdisciplinary Research on High-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal in Germany (TRANSENS).
The question of the best possible shipment of radioactive waste has been interesting him for several years as part of his civil society commitment. In the TRANSENS project, he has been working, among other things, on a discourse-theoretical examination of the use of competing terms and meanings along lines of social conflict in dealing with high-level radioactive waste. Another focus of interest of his work is the consideration of the public participation formats provided for under the Site Selection Act and implemented by the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Disposal.
