Teaching for Future: Political Science University Teaching in tune with the times
Annual meeting of the Working Group University Teaching of the DVPW
How does political science university teaching keep pace with the times? This question is the focus of the joint conference of the Schader Foundation and the Working Group on University Teaching of the German Political Science Association (DVPW). Participants will have the opportunity to explore new teaching formats and concepts, and to discuss current topics in higher education didactics with their colleagues in workshops. In addition, a panel discussion will address the question of how much politics and politicization university teaching can take.
As part of the conference, the DVPW and the Schader Foundation will award the 2023 Political Science Teaching Prize, which this year goes to Prof. Dr. Lena Partzsch. She is honored for her teaching project "Stockholm+50: Five Decades of Global Sustainability Governance" which she implemented in the summer semester of 2022 at Freie Universität Berlin. OSI students involved in the project were Elanur Alsaç, Myrodis Athanassiou, Jana Beier, Ettore Benetti, Johanna Carrasco Saravia, Wonyoung Cho, Emmanuel Dahan, Julie Duval, Liam Gavin, Sofie Jokerst, Elizaveta Kapinos, Laura Kräh, Ruth Krötz, Maike Laengenfelder, Caroline Landolt, Rosa-Lena Lange, Estefanía Lawrance Crespo, Kathrin Lehmann, Maren Lorenzen- Fischer, Marco Aurélio Duarte Mayer, Felix Nütz, Silvia Panini and Arthur Saillard. The Political Science Teaching Prize, awarded by the DPVW and the Schader Foundation, annually recognizes "best-practice" examples of political science university teaching.
Unfortunately, registration for the event is no longer possible, however, the panel discussion and the award ceremony will be live-streamed. Details can be found here (in German).
