Content:

Prof. Dr. Lena Partzsch participates in a panel discussion (in German) as part of the Sustainability Days. The Sustainability Days take place at Freie Universität from June 20 to 22, organized by the initiative "SUSTAIN IT!". Together with Gudrun Sack, Managing Director of Tegel Projekt GmbH, Katalin Gennburg, Member of Berlin Parliament, and Benni Wasmer, Berlin autofrei (Berlin car-free), Prof. Partzsch will discuss the questions of how a sustainable transformation can succeed in cities and communities, what challenges exist, and what role civil society engagement plays.

Background:

The participatory initiative SUSTAIN IT! develops projects to make Freie Universität Berlin sustainable and future-proof, and it provides a platform for networking on topics related to a social-ecological transformation. Every year, the group organizes the Sustainability Days at the university with many different events and activities around the topics of sustainable development - from food sharing events, participatory exhibitions, action cooking, fishbowl discussions, upcycling and creative workshops, clothing swaps, and bicycle repair cafés to science slams, lectures, and panel discussions. This year's program can be found here (in german).
