The speakers of the Food Policy Council Berlin - Sami Çeltikoğlu and Annette Jensen - are guests in the seminar "Introduction to Agricultural and Food Policy" (Prof. Partzsch). Everybody is welcome to join this session!
The Food Policy Council Berlin (Ernährungsrat Berlin) is a civil society association of actors who are committed to ecological, climate and socially just food production and distribution in the Berlin area. The Council sees itself as an alliance that publicly represents civil society positions. The Council calls for a sustainable food system and wants to help civil society positions gain political validity.
The Food Policy Council demands a new food system for Berlin and criticizes the lack of sustainability and justice of the current system that is politically promoted. The Council therefore wants to create spaces in which citizens can regain the power to determine the production, processing and marketing of food. The work of the Food Policy Council is based on the political concept of food sovereignty. What this means and what exactly the work of the Berlin Food Policy Council looks like, will be discussed in the seminar "Introduction to Agricultural and Food Policy" with Sami Çeltikoğlu and Annette Jensen, spokespersons of the Food Policy Council Berlin. The session is open to all interested!
