On today's Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism

we remember

the part that science played

in National Socialist persecution and extermination

 at this site of research.

We commemorate

the victims of the research and activities of the

Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Anthropology, Human Genetics and Eugenics,

the victims of the Shoah, the Porajmos, the extermination war,

of Nazi dehumanization and murder.

Their memory deserves honor.

Here you can find the detailed memorial text (in German).

We mourn the loss of Matthias Vernaldi.

The long-time activist of the disability movement, among others in the Berlin Alliance for Self-Determined Life of Disabled People (Das Bündnis für selbstbestimmtes Leben behinderter Menschen in Berlin), has passed away during the night between Sunday and Monday, March 9th. As activists, we have known Matthias Vernaldi from afar for several years. We got to know him personally during the last year in the course of our project. He was one of the representatives of self-organizations with whom our project regularly coordinates its interim results. Matthias Vernaldi's critical comments, sometimes contrary to our expectations, have given us food for thought. We join in the grief of the disabled movement and of our comrades. Here you can find an obituary for Matthias Vernaldi.
